Gaza strip medical delays as a cause of diseases

UNICEF’s spokesperson, James Elder, updated us on issues in southern Gaza and the Doctor of Al-Shifa Hospital. The doctor noted that those children are subjected to risky attacks on air and on the ground, whereby diseases like diarrhea and respiratory diseases are associated with them.

The physician indicated grave worries over disease outbreaks in children suffering from malnutrition and compromised immune systems. Elder passed the word that there would be a danger of killing children through such scenes.

Yet, James Elder said that UNICEF was sad that the negotiations on releasing hostages for a ceasefire prolongation are ongoing. His friends lay there, little children with war wounds sitting in car parks or gardens on their makeshifts of a sheet.

Nevertheless, in this emergency, doctors are forced to make hard choices to provide help to those who need it most. There is an imminent need for an urgent humanitarian intervention aimed at saving these innocent lives.

These medical delays are only making it worse

This violence resulted in a young boy losing a leg, but he was stuck for three or four days at some of the various checkpoints on his way to the south. While moving around, the smell of corpse that made his wounds all over his body even worse was still lingering. Sadly, he stood a chance of losing his sight for life and had over half of his body burnt.

a UN agency stated that an evaluation done in the northern Gaza Strip on November 24 showed grave doubts regarding requirements for the captives. This assessment revealed “dire health needs” in the region, demonstrating the importance of providing comprehensive humanitarian support to address the current acute health problems of the local people.
